Did you know that all UK bats and their roosts are protected by law? The Wildlife and Countryside Act introduced in 1981, gave legal protection to all bat species and their roosts in England.
Distinct species of bats prefer differing places to roost. The two most usually found species of bat in the UK are the Pipistrelle and Brown Long-Eared Bat. Pipistrelle prefer confined spaces such as under tiles on roofs and hanging spaces. The Brown Long-Eared Bat prefer roof timbers and ridges inside lofts. Heritage Clay Tiles can provide purpose made access points within your roof tiles or ridge tiles. The Bat Tile Set can form part of a mitigation package required by law for existing roosts or as potential access where a roost had not previously been present.

Georgian Roof Tiles

Flat tile roofs with Georgian roof tiles offer a more contemporary and minimalist look compared to barrel tile, also known as S-type or Spanish tiled roofs. This makes them more suitable for the modern architectural styles and design preferences that appear to be prevalent in today's building trade. Additionally, flat Georgian roof tiles typically provide better protection against water infiltration due to their smooth surface and tight interlocking design. After all, there is nothing worse than water making its way into your property. Water ingress is responsible for massive amounts of damage to properties. If the leak is particularly bad, you can end up with damage to the entire fabric of the building as well as your interior furnishings. Small leaks can go unnoticed for a very long time, and by the time they have been detected, irreparable damage may have been done to wooden rafters and wall plaster.

Where is Berkshire?
Berkshire, known officially as the Royal County of Berkshire, is a ceremonial county in Southeast England. It is bordered by Oxfordshire to the north, Buckinghamshire to the north-east, Greater London to the east, Surrey to the south-east, Hampshire to the south, and Wiltshire to the west. Reading is the largest settlement and the county town of Berkshire.
Berkshire has an area of 488 square miles and a population of 911,403. The population is concentrated in the east, the area closest to Greater London, which includes the county of Berkshires largest towns, namely Reading, Slough, Bracknell, and Maidenhead. The west is rural, and its largest town is Newbury. For local government purposes Berkshire comprises six unitary authority areas: Bracknell Forest, Reading, Slough, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead, and Wokingham. The historic county of Berkshire included the parts of Oxfordshire south of the River Thames, which formed its northern border, but excluded Caversham and Slough.
The Berkshire Downs, a chalk downland and area of outstanding natural beauty, occupy the west of the county. They are the source of the River Kennet, which flows east through Newbury before meeting the Thames at Reading. The Thames then forms Berkshire's northern border, flowing past Maidenhead, before entering Berkshire and flowing past Slough and Windsor. The south-east of Berkshire contains Swinley Forest, a remnant of Windsor Forest now used as a forestry plantation.

Fish Species to be caught in the Berkshire river
Anglers can hunt a wide range of fish species, including the majestic and hard fighting barbel, chub, roach, dace, bream, and perch, with some areas also reporting the presence of trout, grayling, tench, and carp. Rainbow trout would likely be escapees from hotel nets in the area, whereas brown trout are more likely to be naturally occurring.
The River Kennet in Berkshire is known for its superb fishing conditions, with many areas offering a good head of wild fish supplemented by regular stocking by local angling clubs and the Environment Agency.
