Bat Tiles:

Provide help for our bats with our range of bat friendly roof tiles.

Did you know that all UK bats and their roosts are protected by law? The Wildlife and Countryside Act introduced in 1981, gave legal protection to all bat species and their roosts in England.

Distinct species of bats prefer differing places to roost. The two most usually found species of bat in the UK are the Pipistrelle and Brown Long-Eared Bat. Pipistrelle prefer confined spaces such as under tiles on roofs and hanging spaces. The Brown Long-Eared Bat prefer roof timbers and ridges inside lofts. Heritage Clay Tiles can provide purpose made access points within your roof tiles or ridge tiles. The Bat Tile Set can form part of a mitigation package required by law for existing roosts or as potential access where a roost had not previously been present.

Clayhall Roof Tiles

Clayhall Roof Tiles: Clayhall Dark Blend from Heritage Clay Tiles Ltd

Made with care and skill, the Clayhall dark blend from the Clayhall roof tiles range offers a modern, yet traditional grey roof tile with a glorious sandy texture that will make any property stand out.

Why choose Clayhall roof tiles?

Clayhall roof tiles are incredibly durable against weathering, with an expected lifespan of around one hundred years, but all our Clayhall roof tiles come with a standard fifty year guarantee anyway. When properly installed Clayhall roof tiles resist impact, wind, fire, and rot.

Clayhall roof tiles are wind resistant owing to the heavyweight and layered structure; they create optimal wind resistance, protecting your home from very strong winds.

Clayhall roof tiles are fire resistant. Because they were created in the kiln, Clayhall roof tiles are naturally fire resistant. Clayhall roof tiles protect your home from falling embers and airborne fireworks.

Clayhall roof tiles are rot resistant and will not rot. Clayhall roof tiles also resist insect infestations too. In order to stop insects such as wasps from making nests between the gaps in the roof tiles, we suggest you apply cement filler in the gaps.

Clayhall roof tiles are sustainable because they are manufactured from natural materials to make recyclable and eco-friendly clay roof tiles. It is important to know that the production of Clayhall roof tiles doesn't release toxic chemicals into the environment.

Clayhall roof tiles are energy efficient as they provide thermal properties, reducing heat loss or heat gain. The layering of the roof tiles encourages natural air ventilation and good air-flow, creating a heat transfer barrier, keeping your roof warm in the winter and cool in the summer. This is good news, as it will reduce your energy costs considerably

Clayhall roof tiles maintain their colour, and their gorgeous texture and subtle grey colouring will not fade with time, in fact, it just improves with age.

So, if you want a superior roof tile in a lovely grey hue, the Clayhall roof tiles dark blend could well be the roof tile for you.

A little information about Berkshire

Rugby and Football in Berkshire

Reading Football Club is the only Berkshire football club to play professional football. Despite being founded in 1871, the club did not join the Football League until 1920 and first played in the top tier of English football in the 2006-07 season.

Newbury in Berkshire was home to A.F.C. Newbury, which was one of only two football clubs to be sponsored by the major telecommunications company Vodafone, the other being Manchester United. In 2006 Vodafone ended its sponsorship of the club, following which the club sadly collapsed. A local pub team from the Old London Apprentice took over the ground temporarily and now compete in the Hellenic Football League as Newbury F.C. A sad fate indeed for this popular Berkshire football team.

Amateur or professional, Berkshire is the county for football

There are several amateur and semi-professional football clubs in the county of Berkshire. These include Maidenhead United, Slough Town, Windsor & Eton F.C., Hungerford Town, Thatcham Town, Ascot United, A.F.C. Aldermaston, Sandhurst Town, Windsor F.C., Wokingham & Emmbrook F.C., Binfield F.C., Bracknell Town F.C. and Reading City.

Berkshire is well known for being home to the Thames River Derby as it is one of England's oldest footballing rivalries. The fixture is played between Slough Town and Windsor & Eton F.C. on opposite sides of the historic River Thames.

Rugby in Berkshire

Football is not the only team sport regularly played in Berkshire, Reading in Berkshire is also a centre for rugby union football. The Premiership team London Irish were for twenty years tenants at the Madejski Stadium before their move back to South West London at a new stadium in Brentford.

Newbury's rugby union club, Newbury R.F.C., known locally as the Newbury Blues, is based in the Berkshire town. In the 2004-05 season, the club finished second in the National Two division earning promotion to National One. Newbury had previously won National Four South, which has since been renamed as National Three South in 1996-97 with a 100% win record. In 2010-11 the Berkshire club finished bottom of National League 2S, with a single win and twenty-nine defeats. The Berkshire club was founded in 1928 and in 1996 moved to a new purpose-built ground at Monks Lane, which has since hosted England U21 fixtures.
