Provide help for our bats with our range of bat friendly roof tiles.
Did you know that all UK bats and their roosts are protected by law? The Wildlife and Countryside Act introduced in 1981, gave legal protection to all bat species and their roosts in England.
Distinct species of bats prefer differing places to roost. The two most usually found species of bat in the UK are the Pipistrelle and Brown Long-Eared Bat. Pipistrelle prefer confined spaces such as under tiles on roofs and hanging spaces. The Brown Long-Eared Bat prefer roof timbers and ridges inside lofts. Heritage Clay Tiles can provide purpose made access points within your roof tiles or ridge tiles. The Bat Tile Set can form part of a mitigation package required by law for existing roosts or as potential access where a roost had not previously been present.

Hampshire has a rich military heritage dating back for many years and it isn't all about the Navy either!
Hampshire has castles and forts to visit, as well as regimental museums, stunning historic houses and glorious country parks. The most obvious connection between Hampshire and the military is that the county is home to both the British Army at Aldershot and the Royal Navy at Portsmouth.
Hampshire has had an enviable military heritage dating all the way back to Roman times. This can still be seen in Portchester Castle, that overlooks the Solent. This has to be one of the best preserved Roman strongholds left today.
The Portsmouth Dockyard is one of this countries top ten heritage attractions. Here you can marvel at vessels including HMS Victory and HMS Warrior 1860. Should you want to step further back in time, you can also find The Mary Rose Museum were you can explore the remains of Henry VIII favourite ship. If you are interested in something more up to date, you can take the Gosport ferry across the water and actually board a real submarine at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum.
Hampshire is fortunate to have such a fine example of British Naval history in the form of HMS Victory.
HMS Victory is an impressive 104 gun first rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, ordered in 1758, laid down in 1759 and launched in 1765. She is best known for her role as Lord Nelsons flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805.
She additionally served as Keppels flagship at Ushant, Howes flagship at Cape Spartel and Jervis flagship at Cape St Vincent. After 1824, she was relegated to the role of harbour ship.
In 1922, she was moved to a dry dock at Portsmouth, Hampshire and preserved as a museum ship. She has been the flagship of the First Sea Lord since October 2012 and is the worlds oldest naval ship still in commission, with 242 years service as of 2020.
The Mary Rose is a carrack type warship of the English Tudor navy of King Henry VIII. She served for 33 years in several wars against France, Scotland, and Brittany. After being substantially rebuilt in 1536, she saw her last action on 19 July 1545. She led the attack on the galleys of a French invasion fleet, but sank in the Solent, the straits north of the Isle of Wight.
Winchester has six amazing regimental museums, including those of the Royal Hampshire Regiment and the Gurkhas, while other military histories can be traced at the Museum of Army Chaplaincy at Andover, the Army Flying Museum at Middle Wallop and the Army Medical Services Museum at Mytchett.
Hampshire has produced some of Englands most famous military heroes, such as the Duke of Wellington, whose funeral carriage, made from melted down French cannon captured at the Battle of Waterloo can be seen at the elegant Stratfield Saye House, and Lord Louis Mountbatten, whose distinguished life is celebrated at his family home of Broadlands in Romsey.
The British Army is based in Aldershot in Hampshire and the annual Aldershot Garrison Show is a must see event. The Aldershot Military Museum traces the military history, with recreated barracks, a tank simulator and a training tunnel.
